Default BB Bold, MacBook Pro and Teh Internets

Please Login to Remove!

I have a BB Bold (bought through ATT and later unlocked) with the .303 software...

I very recently (yesterday, to be exact) received my high school graduation gift (late..)- A MacBook Pro- and Immediately, I installed the Mac version of DM and i just have one question-

Can I use my phone as a modem to connect to the internet when I dont have WiFi available? (also, is this possible through Bluetooth or is the USB chord the only way, if any?)

I have tried to look this up but since the Mac software is rather recent, I havent been able to pull anything up like i usually do when i come here in need of help...

This is also called "tethering," correct?
Sorry for the noobish question, but, although i am very technologically savvy, i have not meddled in the arts of this type of maneuvering... hopefully this can help as well:
-i have the Unlimited BB Data Plan through ATT (30 effing dollars... )
-Phone OS is 4.6.0.303
-I have a Windows 7 Desktop with the latest BB DM software on it, as well.

Thanks for looking! this site truly has helped me through quite some pickles... even through the "murdering" of my blackberry bold with the Black Bezel/Parts!

thanks again!

The "unlimited" data plans for most carriers do NOT include tethering. AT&T's fees for tethering are somewhere in the $60/month range in addition to the data plan.

Personally, I have never even experimented with tethering.

First off in order to get tethering with ATT, you need the additional plan, as stated above which 60 dollars.
2. I am not sure if tethering works with the mac, but it will with windows 7.
3. http://forums.crackberry.com/f83/how...d-modem-71166/ use that guide to set up tethering.
4. Tethering can work with bluetooth or via the usb cable.

Check our FAQ for info on how to tether a BB.

Might also check the Mac section for additional info as well. Or post a question there, after you SEARCH.

I think t-mobile is the only carrier who allows tethering with their unlimited data plan. I use it pretty regularly, though it is not usually very fast. I wonder if tethering will still be included once the 3G 9700 drops......
