Default BES Web Monitoring Portal

Please Login to Remove!

I've just been handed the task of admin our BES server. We are running V5 and I've read somewhere that it comes with a web-based monitoring portal?

Is this correct?

If so, any idea where I can find/activate it? I've logged into BAS, but have not seen anything.

Thanks

It comes packaged with the BES software, it is called BlackBerry Monitoring Service. You will have to install it on a separate server than the one the BES is on.

No, it is a separate piece of software that needs to be installed on a different server than the BES.

And it talks to your BAS to build your list of available BES components that can be monitored. By default, only your BESMgmt database is the non-SNMP component.

Found it. It was installed on the BES server. Are there implications of running it on that server?

Thanks.

If there happens to be an issue with the server, not only are your users not going to get messages to their devices, but you won't be alerted about it either.
