Default Calendar Sync Issues

Please Login to Remove!

I am having problems with my wireless calendar sync. It has worked fine untill recently it just stopped. We have added a new domain controler (w2k3) and I think the problem started around the same time.

dlls are the same on exchange server and BES Server, i can ping from BES server to exchange server.

Anyone have any ideas?

Here are the logs from BES:
[40574] (01/23 03:27:15):{0xD50} CDO helper 04432f78 started
[30001] (01/23 03:27:16):{0xD50} CDOCalendar::Initialize - Code = 800406f9, WCode = 04f9, Code meaning = IDispatch error #1273,
[30002] (01/23 03:27:16):{0xD50} Server = exch1, Mailbox = /o=GOConcepts/ou=First Administrative Group/cn=Recipients/cn=tonyb Description = The information store could not be opened. [MAPI 1.0 - [MAPI_E_LOGON_FAILED(80040111)]].
[30180] (01/23 03:27:16):{0xD50} {tonyb} CDOCalendar::Initialize - Error in call m_spCalendarFolder = m_spCDOSession->GetDefaultFolder.
[40000] (01/23 03:27:16):{0xD50} CDO initializing failure in CDO helper 04432f78 (1)

It sounds kinda like this

windows 2003 domain controller memory leak
But I'm not seeing the large memory usage that i would expect from that specific issue.

Thanks for the help!

It could be the BlackBerry Service account in your Exchange environment. Do not put it in any groups, but give it directly all the rights as defined in the installation manual. Don't forget the Send As.. and Receive As.. rights.

Bob

You have a Name Resolution problem. When you ping the Exchange Server are you using IP or the name exch1?

From an Outlook client can you resolve a MAPI Profile to the user's mailbox using the Mailbox Name (tonyb) and Exchange Server (exch1)?

Default Still no luck

The BESAdmin user is not a member of any groups and has the permissions from the install guide (Administer Information Store, Send As, Receive As I believe).

When i ping I am pinging the name (exch1) without the domain name.
Code:
C:\Documents and Settings\besadmin>ping exch1

Pinging exch1.gont [10.1.1.36] with 32 bytes of data:

Reply from 10.1.1.36: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=128
Reply from 10.1.1.36: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=128
Reply from 10.1.1.36: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=128
Reply from 10.1.1.36: bytes=32 time<1ms TTL=128

Ping statistics for 10.1.1.36:
    Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
    Minimum = 0ms, Maximum = 0ms, Average = 0ms

Both Exchange and BES have the same windows DNS and WINs server.

I don't have outlook installed on the BES server so I don't know if that works but IEMS Test does

iemstest will verify Permissions but not Name Resolution. To ensure that Exchange is working properly try to resolve the MAPI Profile - as previously noted - from your own PC.

I'm guessing that "resolve a MAPI Profile" would be same as setting up outlook to use that mail box (correct me if I'm wrong).

I have my outlook setup on several different computers and it works fine. However it has exch1.domainname. I put in just exch1 and hit the "check name" and it automaticly adds the .domainname part.

Would that be causing a problem?

Thanks for all your help.

That could be a problem. Maybe someone else will be able to answer that for sure.
