Personally, I have found two BT headsets that work best for me - Jabra JX-10 and the Nokia in my sig. There is a forum here dedicated to BT and is loaded with reviews and opinions on various headsets. That is your best bet for BT info on the Pearl.
I currently use the Motorolla HF820 in my car. It is a very well designed speakerphone that works great in the car. It is also ultra portable. It has a built in clip to clip onto your visor.
People who wear those headsets especially all day crack me up... they belong on steven segal's strike team!
Jabra BT250v. Works very well for me. My GN6210 had connection problems - it wouldn't sustain a connection for longer than a few seconds. If I sent the call to the headset, though, it worked flawlessly, although they say thay the 6210 is built that way.
Samsung WEP200, Pairs right away and works much better that my Plantronic 640. I have been using it with my 8700C and now the Pearl and it works great. Only draw back it has to sit in a cradle to charge, and that is not USB mini compatible - but that means my Pearl and Samsung headset charge at night side by side to do battle the next day!
I am waiting to try the new Jawbone - that headset is supposed to have amazing noise cancellation!
I'm seriously impressed. I've had Logitech and Jabra BT headsets before. I put this one on when I get dressed and forget about it until I pick up the landline at work and hear the *klunk* of the handset bumping the earpiece. It's that comfortable.
And it stays connected well too. I'm going to have to dust off my old Jabra and see how well it works with the Pearl, but I probably won't switch back.
I'll second the Plantronics 510, just an overall excellent product.
I have used at least 6-7 different headsets prior.
I also just picked up a new Jawbone unit, works as advertised in terms of noise reduction, but the earpiece is not loud enough(compared to the 510) and is not as comfortable as the 510.
Three criteria are important to me. First, how well can I hear others. Second, how clear is the sound for the person I am calling. And third, how easy is the headset to use.
I tried the Gennum nXZEN headset and was rather disappointed.
It is hard to put on, the rubber ear piece end falls off easily, and the sound was reported to me as not overly clear.
Besides that it was damned expensive!
Good thing I could return it. The hunt is on for a new headset now.
Thats not my experience with the nXzen. While the earhook is somewhat flexible, I love mine - I actually have 2 - one for my business office phone a Uniden Bluetooth phone. Had a Motorola 850. My sound is better, has noice cancelling & can activate voice dialing from it. Wouldnt even think of changing.
I use the Plantronics 320. Got it cheap on eBay and it works great. Alos have the Motorola (??? - it's the one that used the AAA battery instead of a charger) - like them both for different reasons. The Plantronics works great because it fits into the ear canal and that makes it very easy to hear in a noisy location - cancles out the external noise. The Motorola is nice because it uses a standard battery that I just dispose of when it runs out and put in another!
