Default Maybe i broke my wifes 8700

Please Login to Remove!

Ive been messing with here 8700 because mine is on the way. Well now she can hear someone on the phone but cant talk. I dont recall messing with any kind of muting options. Any ideas on how to get here talking again?

Maybe you'll be sleeping in the dog house. Try a hard reset (take the battery out and put it back in with the power on)

I assume you have tried adjusting the volume, but maybe not, so I'll ask. And what is the default volume setting in phone options?

The 87XX series devices have a very small hole on the bottom left face of the device to allow air in to the microphone. If that hole is obstructed it results in the problem you're describing.

If i call someone and scream they can hear me. Im assuming there is dirt in the mic hole. What do i do just pull the few screws out of the back and take the phone apart? there wont be and major catastrophe will there when i pull those screws?

I wouldn't recommend taking it apart. Just try and get a pin or paperclip and clean it out.
