The BB has the functionality, the fact that you don't want to pay for an application to do what you require, are two different things. For instance, one purchases a PC and the software applications within it separately.

AT&T does not have a specific branded messenger application. You might try AIM/OZ or something that is free.

Here are several, find the one that floats your boat:

Good luck.

I held out on buying JiveTalk for a month. I tried to use the free ones, but they were sub par and gave me more headaches than anything.

Just get JiveTalk for a one time and you'll never regret it. It is by far the best chat client out there.

I agree with the above poster. You get what you pay for. The JiveTalk application is second to none. It's a one time purchase and you won't be disappointed. Give it a try. It does have a 30 day trial.

Jive Talk is the best out and I've had them all. Before JT, I think Verichat was my fav.

I'm really not being cheap but i feel that if AIM/OCZ aren't working on my phone right now because of a problem with AT&T then why should i have to pay 30$ for another program.

i mean i got the unlimited messaging for 30. then i find out i need a data plan to get the program to use IM. boom there is another 30 a month.

then after all that i find out that i have to pay another 30 just for the client itself. i mean am i the only one who finds that ridiculous?

i'm 20 yrs old and don't make a lot of money so it's annoying to have to drop that kind of money when in all reality i shouldn't have had to in the first place.
