So on Sat I’m at my local Mall and thought I would do the rounds and ask when the 8800 comes out. I went to T-Mobile, O2, Orange and Vodafone, asked them all for a date. – each rep gave me a puzzled look and then looked on their system for a release date. They all said exactly the same thing…

“There’s nothing on our computer system with regards to a new Blackberry, so your looking at least a couple of months!”

Wtf?

Vodaphone Business have them on there website now, and members on this very forum have told me 28th for UK release. I’m just confused now. Lol.

Keep in mind that in most stores, reps arent told about any new releases until it arrives in their store or a day or two before. The chances that you'll get a rep that knows a lot about blackberrys is slim, the chances that you'll get a rep that knows about blackberry and has been informed by management and corporate of a release date is even slimmer. Not the reps fault, they just arent given a lot of notice such as "hey..the 8800 comes out 3 weeks from now at 1201pm by a UPS driver named Stan". Get the idea?


Just be patient. You will soon have your precious.

Most of the Cingular REP in the USA did not know a thing about the 8800 until late last week. They have not even had their official meeting as of Monday morning and it will be sold USA wide in the next two days.

So do not be too upset, reps are kept in the dark for "some reason"
