Well, let's see....
I'm in my car an average of four hours per day, and on the phone for an average of 3 of those hours. Much of that can be on conference calls where I'm just listening most of the time, so on average it's about 1.5 hours in a day that I'm on the phone and could be composing and responding to messages. My BB is my communication lifeline to making money in my line of work and downtime means I make less money or it means that I'm responding to emails after the kids are in bed. In 1.5 hours, I probably average about 75 messages that require a response, so that's all stuff that could get done if I had the technology.
I'm not some kid using a bb in high school for fun (not that there's anything wrong with that, because if I were in high school, I would still want a BB). I depend on it to put food on my table. So, you shouldn't assume that just because it's not important to you that it's not important to someone, somewhere.
