Software For BlackBerry Curve 8310 (TM)

BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.5.0.37 (Multilanguage)
This OS will load on any carrier's 8310 model as long the user follows the instructions below exactly as written.

Filename: 8310M_PBr4[1].5.0_rel52_PL2.7.0.55_A4.5.0.37

Package Version: 4.5.0.52
Consisting of:
Applications: 4.5.0.37
Software Platform: 2.7.0.55
File name: 8310M_PBr4[1].5.0_rel52_PL2.7.0.55_A4.5.0.37
File size:80 MB

Hilfe & Support / BlackBerry / BlackBerry-Handhelds / BlackBerry Curve 8310 vodafone.de

Instructions for installing on ANY carrier's 8310:

1. Make sure you have the latest version of Desktop Manager installed.
https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...93E4F3BB068C22
2. Download the above file to the PC then install it to the PC by running the file you downloaded.
3. Locate the vendor.xml file and delete it. It's located in c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader
4. Plug in BB and Open Desktop Manager. You should be prompted to upgrade.
The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with an hourglass for up to 20 minutes at a time while the DM says "waiting for initialization."
If you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to DM again and run application loader again and it should load the OS to the device.

To find previous versions of the OS for this device, click
HERE

*Note: During Beta testing of this OS on TMobile devices many sim cards were "fried" and had to be replaced and UMA didn't work. Load on TMo devices at your own risk.

Also, on all devices it's a good idea to make a backup of your media card before loading OS 4.5. Constant reboots can occur when using media cards formatted in OS 4.2 or 4.3 in OS 4.5. Then reformat the media card in OS 4.5 and restore your data.

*Note: While in Application Loader be sure and check the boxes to add Documents To Go to your device. Failure to install Documents To Go will cause java errors in some 3rd party apps.

Default Legit??

I assume this is an official release of .37 being it is from Vodaphone. Whoever loads this let me know if it fixed the issues that were reported in the beta release of .37.

It is an "official" release. Still though, this is the OS that had browser issues with entering text and clicking the submit button.

Other than that, it was a good release for me.

I'm using it. I like the video camera and the fact that I can now watch YouTube. I used John's instructions on freeing up memory and I have 30.5mb and it seems to be running faster, especially the browser. My only problems are no more BBMaps on ATT and when I went to Google image search for a new wallpaper I couldn't click "see full size image" for some reason...

Wirelessly posted (Dick Wiggler)

Battery life seems fine so far. My phone is always in sleep mode when I'm not using it though. Another bug I just found is I can't see most of what I'm rtyping right now. Half of the text input box is cut off!

Just installed this software and am still having the same problem with the camera - it takes about 30 seconds for the viewfinder followed by another 30 seconds for it to show the pic.

Is anyone else seeing this?

I downgraded to TIM 4.2 this afternoon & the camera was fine.

I really like the today theme, especially the way it displays emails. Does anyone know how I can save this theme to install if I downgrade back to the TIM 4.2 software? I can't cope with such a slow camera!

Well I went back to 4.2. Camera was fine for me. Couldn't get Google Maps or SoftReset to work for me, deal breaker.

Yea, I had to get past Google Maps not working, there were other and "better" apps out there, like LiveSearch.
http://www.blackberryforums.com/afte...-maps-2-x.html

SoftReset won't work right now on later releases of 4.5, either.

I just loaded on my ATT 8310. With Enterprise Activation it took over 90 minutes. I received an error that the back-up could not be restored. However, it did restore everything.
Camera and video camera working fine, no delay or speed issues. Both recording and playback are fine. I have not tested all my Apps, but this seems to be a winner.
