Hello,

I personallylove the build quality of the blackbery 8800 series. It feels like an actual phone. I was wondering if it is possible to upgrade the OS of the 8800 to the OS of the new blackberry curve 8900? The curve has a much better OS and I feel the 8800s lack in this regard quite a bit. Also has anyone been able to do this. What would be the procedure? Are there any problems with doing this upgrade?

well isn't it kind of lame that the construction of the 8900 isn't as solid. I saw the 9000 and it's not solid. I think the 8800 series are better builds. But I don't know technically they might not be. The OS of the newer blackberries makes the experience a lot more enjoyable.

To each his own. I didn't like the 8800 keyboard at all, and my 8900 is perfect.

Not sure what "solid" means in this context. The 957 - now there was a solid BlackBerry. You could run it over with a truck.

I ran over my 8700 with a 1989 Dodge Ram Charger Truck(the goat as it is affectionately called) dusted the dirt off and kept on going. my wife is still using that phone a year later with no problems. Now that is a tank of a phone!
