Question Cingular BIS 2 and Yahoo mail spam question

Please Login to Remove!

I get a LOT of Spam through my Yahoo (Mail Plus) account. However, it is filtered pretty well and ends up in my Bulk folder. Unfortunately, with BIS 1.8, I still get it on my Blackberry.

Does BIS 2 deliver email from the Bulk folder to the Blackberry? Can you Control it?

Also when Cingular released BIS 2 Monday, there were a lot of posts saying that people were getting an invalid password error. I assume that's been cleared up by now, but just want to double check.

Thanks.

both my sbcglobal and y! accounts (same engine) are set to use the SpamGuard feature. it has been very successful at keeping my inbox "exclusive", and my t-mo BIS pops nothing from outside of my inbox. the only spam i've received on my 'berry is that which somehow made it into the inbox.

i don't have any additional filters set up for those accounts, but i believe i've read that BIS has trouble spotting anything outside of the inbox, so...

-

until this wonderful at&t foolishness i was able to maintain fairly secure addresses and my spam was limited to only a few a day at each account. every so often i would cull duplicate domain messages and block the domain rather than the specific addresses. this would then decrease the incoming spam and reduce the total number of used block address slots. i can't say that the buyout played a direct role in the spamalanche, but the timing was noticeable.

as with any security measure, you need to maintain vigilance and take an active role in preventing intrusion at the first perimeter. if you aren't doing anything to prevent the spam from reaching your inbox, you have zero chance of preventing it hitting your 'berry.

penk - thanks for the feedback, however apparently t-mobile's implementation is different (read RIGHT) from Cingular's (read IDIOTS can't get a simple setup RIGHT!!).

Well as usual Cingular bites the big one again. I made the move to BIS 2 mostly so I could reply from the email address a message was sent to, but also in the hopes that I'd stop getting spam on my berry.

Well I can reply from all the email addresses I had set up, but I still get all the spam that hits my Bulk folder.

By the way, NONE of the five email addresses I had set up (and working) under BIS 1.8 worked when I did the migration. I had to go into each one and retype the password for the account before they worked.

Oh yea, although the time it takes isn't too important to me, the response is abysmal. Haven't tried timing it yet, but it's long enough for me to forget I sent something to test!

To add insult to injury, Yahoo STILL doesn't fully support the 8700!!! If you go to http://mobile.yahoo.com/, they know what a Blackberry is, and support 9 Blackberries, but NOT the 8700! Grrrrr.....

Way to go Cingular!

P.S.
Thanks to everyone else that responded - NOT! Makes me wonder why I bother to try to help others out.
