Default Stupid Cingular! Be more messaging friendly!

Please Login to Remove!

I've been mulling this over since Saturday. I check my Cingular account online pretty much daily. I have to because Cingular doesn't believe in unlimited messaging. Since I got a Blackberry in May, my messaging has increased a ton. I heart my Blackberry with its lovely messaging friendly keyboard. So, on Saturday I come to the conclusion that I am well on my way to message overages.

Alright, so I start telling people today to send me e-mail and I will send them a message back to their phone number that way. Gah! This irritates me. So, I am mulling my choices.

Sprint has unlimited messaging. Sprint also doesn't have SIM cards but does have stupid account spending limits and generally lame policies. I am none too pleased with this option.

Qwest (regional carrier, basically a Sprint MVNO, aka Sprint lite) has unlimited messaging, of a sort. But, they don't have Blackberry devices. Boo. That PPC 6700 with the giant stub antenna would end up getting chucked out the window of my moving vehicle.

Then there's T-Mobile. I could shave about $20 off my monthly bill. Get a Pearl, which doesn't enthuse me terribly, but if I don't like it, just go back to the 7130c. And I could get a phone for my husband's line that would just be a toy. I'd give up 3G for a while, I guess.

At this stage, it's looking like T-Mobile is the clear choice. Sigh.

I don't want to switch. And that's why this is a rant. There's not a gosh darn thing I can do to get unlimited messaging from Cingular as far as I can tell. So, it's message less, work around messaging by using email, or suck up and deal with messaging overage fees. All these options seem stupid given I have alternatives,

This just makes me grumpy.

All right. Done. I don't really want any advice. I think I've decided what I am going to do. I'm just pissed off about it. I just figured I would be with Cingular for a while. Carrier hopping is not in my nature. Sigh. I wonder if I could use this leverage to get hubby's parents off Verizon, though...

Have you checked into ALLTEL. They have a lot to offer. They also offer unlimited texts for $14.99 a month with a BlackBerry.

At least right now, Alltel doesn't offer service in my area. Sigh.
