Default 8800 Keeps restarting......

Please Login to Remove!

Hi....
I have a Blackberry 8800 and all was OK until a couuple of days ago when I upgraded the OS.
Since then the phone constantly restarts as soon as it gets to the welcome screen.
It does not reboot without the sim card in but as soon as it is inserted it does what I have described above.
I have removed the SD card which has not cured the problem. I have also wiped the OS from the handset and reinstalled the OS, still with no joy.
Any additional help and ideas would be much appreciated.
Best wishes,
Wayne.

Wirelessly posted (Verizon 8830)

What about the battery.Maybe it is not connecting properly with the circuits. I used to have your problem when I used my device while plugged in to a poor car charger.

I'm gonna second akosnitzky on this one, since the you wiped the handset already this probably isn't software related, maybe the battery is a bit or a bent connector so when the phone is moved the connection broke causing the phone to re-boot.

Thanks for the comments guys.
It is not the battery as it stays powered up when the sim card is not installed.

At last some succes.
I have installed a previous version, 4.2.1.138 OS and it is now working intermittently (it has to keep searching for the network).
Wondering why it will not work on up to date OS?
Regards,
Wayne.

Have the same problem. When i remove the 2GB SD the system stops rebootiing. For some reason not sure why there is a problem reading the memory card. Will try the flash again

An update since my last post.
Although the Blackberry worked to some extent on version 4.2.1 it kept loosing its signal and would display the message, "no network coverage".
I then tried installing a newer version and the phone has gone back to the original problem of constantly restarting.
Any ideas what the problem is guys?
Best wishes,
Wayne.
