Smile Is it safe to buy a Blackberry Bold now? Or is a new one coming this year?

Please Login to Remove!

Newb question, because I've never owned a BB and I'm looking to get the Bold (I'm on AT&T).

I just don't want to get the Bold now and feel stupid if a new model on AT&T comes out in a couple months.

So what should I do??? I'm sure you insiders know of the updates coming out soon.

Thanks so much.

I guess if you were to wait for the next, newest device to come out, we would never buy anything. If you like the Bold, I'd buy one.
Its a great device, with a fantastic screen, and would probably make you happy.
If another one comes along that is better (and this always happens), you can upgrade later.

Yep... buy it if you want it. Don't if you don't want it. If you elect to wait for "the next big thing" you will always be waiting.

New model comes every year. If you wait, you can't win.

The one joy with being on a CDMA carrier, my options are limited lol..

Go for the Bold man, you won't be dissappointed.

Isn't the AT&T Javelin coming out like any day now?

I agree with the others. There's always something coming. If I had a working device, was ready to get a new one, and something for sure was coming out "any day" or "this month" I would wait. But not for any longer than that. Especially if you don't have a blackberry now.

Get the blackberry now and enjoy it.

There are always newer devices in the pipeline as others have said. There are also always rumors as to release dates.

However, if you're shopping now and a carrier hasn't announced the release date for a new device then I wouldn't recommend worrying about it. Unannounced release dates tend to be very unreliable (even from the best of sources) and there are a number of things that can cause release delays.

I don't advise basing your shopping decision on the rumor mill unless your timeframe is 6 months - 1 year.
