I have not seen the option to upgrade either, but the new check box is there.

Check box does not seem to do anything with Gmail. If I delete in Gmail it does not delete from the handheld.

It appears I was automatically switched to 2.3 without an upgrade prompt.

While I can't speak for Cingular/AT&T BIS, with VZW, it appears the messages must be deleted from the trash in Gmail as well, and even at that, it takes a while for the message to dissapear from the BlackBerry, even when you "Reconcile Now."

sounds about accurate. Gmail does not use traditional folders like yahoo therefore it is not as simple to reconcile. everything is in the All Mail and labeled to be in other shortcuts

Interesting, but then why does Gmail deleted from the BlackBerry immediately get moved to the trash in Gmail from the inbox? Rather than just being permanently deleted? Seems like timely 2-way sync should easily be possible similar to how it is now with Yahoo.

Just a quick one. Ever since the update, my wife says that she can now read e-mails in Japanese that come into her gmail account on her blackberry. She still can't type them, but this is halfway there and is certainly better than the gibberish she saw before when she received Japanese messages.

T-Mobile has also made the switch to 2.3. Upgrade was automatic and changes in the website are subtle, so many people will probably not realize it has happened. New features are up and operational.

I am on T-mobile, and my Yahoo 2-way sync does not seem to be working, is there anything special that needs to be done?
I checked the sync box in my t-mobile BIS account.
I have resent the service books and did a battery pull.
When I check my mail in my yahoo account, read a new message on the web, it shows up as read on my blackberry. However, when I delete the message from the web, it does NOT delete from my blackberry? If I delete a message from my blackberry it will delete it off my web account. Is there anything that I am doing wrong?

Try deleting the account in BIS and setting it up again. Also, after you set it up again, resend service books, just for good measure.

Tried all of that, with another battery pull for good measure. I am in the Philadelphia area with a chicago phone number, are they phasing this in area by area?
Everything works except the delete

No phasing, it was global upgrade.
What 'delete' is not working, for GMail? Two way sync of deleted items is Yahoo only new feature.

For Yahoo!. The two way is not working for Yahoo. If I delete a message off of my blackberry it will delete off of my yahoo web account. If I read a new message off my web account it will show as read on my blackberry. If I delete a message off my yahoo web account, the message will NOT delete off of my blackberry. I have been waiting for this feature forever, and now is not working.

I know it works for me. If I mark messages as read on Yahoo Web site, its status immediately changes on blackberry to read.
If I delete email on Web site, it immediately vanishes from my blackberry.
When I am saying 'immediately' I mean it: it happens under one second. It is almost scary how quickly it reconsiles with Yahoo.

Any changes for google apps for domain email?
Does the new BIS 2.3 fix the issue for google apps mail (ie gmail but with your own domain)? Prior you had the issue that it would not sync since bis saw it as a pop vs a gmail.

I figured out what was wrong, and why my itemes delted off of Yahoo would not delete on the blackberry. I was using the 'New' Yahoo. Once I reverted back to the original Yahoo interface my mails reconciles perfectly. Does anyone have the 2 way sync in the new Yahoo interface?
