I'll be waiting to compare it with the Storm myself. The cheaper data price is attractive ($20 vs $30 on Vzn).

T-Mobile doesn't need a 3G phone? Are you out of your mind? They need a 3G phone now more than ever, which is why they launched (read: rushed) the G1. Many major metro areas have T-Mo 3G right now. If they don't now, they will in a few weeks to a few months.

The biggest thing T-Mobile has going for it is the price point. $60-70 for BlackBerry service with a decent amount of minutes is cheap when compared to all the other carriers. If the other 3 have 3G and T-Mobile doesn't, it's just that much of a harder sell.

The 8900 going to AT&T first makes sense. They have the Bold as their flagship, it'll be good for them to have a Curve replacement at a lower price point. I don't think we've seen a T-Mo branded 8900, have we? We've certainly seen an AT&T one though.

I like to think the only thing you have seen is an 8900 w an att sim card.
this does not make it branded. 8900 will go to tmo first i am sure

The review on the Curve 8900 that Gizmodo did was branded AT&T.

Any word on a Sprint model?

Considering the timing of the last Curve for Sprint, I'm guessing expecting it by mid '09 (or even end of 2009) is incredibly wishful thinking?

I'm glad you think you're sure. It had AT&T imprinted on the back of the unit by the camera. And like others have said, no one has yet to see a 8900 yet with TMO on it.

I am not going to comment on 3G or what has or has not been seen online or even a release date. I will say I have seen but can not provide photographic proof of a T-Mobile Curve as well as many T-Mobile U.S. Branded Bolds.

The 8900 is in line to replace the Curve, just like the Bold will replace the 8800 series, so yea at&t will definitely be getting it. This whole release will most likely be similar to the 8800-8300 release. The 8800 dropped in February of 07, and the 8300 dropped later in June of 07. So figure 4-5 months apart.

I doubt we'll see 3G on it, the price point will be lower, and that will most likely make up the difference between the two. The Price for the 8900 will Probably be the same as an 8300, $199-$299
