the guy only has 2 feedback and both times he was the buyer. i wouldnt spend that kind of money unless i was positive it was legit. but i guess buying a bold on ebay regardless is a little bit of a gamble. =/

Well, it appears a bit more legit than some of the other ones we've seen filter through eBay..

this dude had an auction up last night, I posted here in the forums, I bid it up to $550.00. I received notice that the Auction was cancelled... I would beware. Here is the link to the thread I started... http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...bold-ebay.html

Seems to me that RIM would know this and other units have been stolen and would simply disable to pin.

Seller with feedback score of 2.
Device has no warranty.
Device comes without box, but it's listed as "new, never opened".
Sale is "as is" and is final.
Price stands at $1350.
The stupidity of this boggles the mind.

Why would someone pay $1,350+ for a device that they could get a few weeks from now for less than 1/3rd that price from a legitimate retail outlet where they can just go and pick it up?

lol ya i dont understand why this amt of money would be spent on something that will be out for around half the price in a few months or so? the part that gets me is where he says "have more than one, best offer or highest bid wins, open to negations"

Yeah and now he has 5 of them up for sale on ebay, all using the same pictures as the original auction. Doesn't ebay have some sort of policy that states if you have more than one of something you have to post a picture of ALL OF THEM in the same picture? I know they did for iphone and sony PS3.....

$1350 may seem like alot of money for you, but remember that it is nothing but pocket change to others and the risk is minimal to them.

The iPhone and PS3 were a lot higher volume sellers so they added those requirements. Perhaps the Bold will be next. You can always report the bidder to eBay and they will investigate the auction. People like that are why we have to have so many rules.

for real =/ what happened to those happy go lucky, frolicking among the flowers days? now we have to make sure that the flowers have just the right amount of petals and we cant step on or physically alter them. =(

I bought on for 350 off a friend, the new ones with the leather back, i used to have the one with pure plastic back but that was really really beta and didnt work good. If you really want one check Kijiji Canada legit people sell them for like 500, not bad. they would prolly ship too

Wirelessly posted (8130 Pearl (Sprint))
Looks legit... Except for that he only has 2 feedback and 5 bolds?? And located in the us. If its a production model, how did he get 5? And if its the real thing, why is there no box. Looks real to the picture, but seems like a scam.
But still way too much for anyone to risk getting a piece of junk.
And @ the previous poster, eBay does require you to supply all items in a picture with your username and current feedback score for all 'high in demand' items. I just reported this to an eBay rep and they are investigating

His auction history:
*July 25, 2008 - paid $5.17 for a DVD of Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle
*July 21, 2008 - "this listing has been removed"
No feedback as as seller.
Hmmm. "Open to negation"... LOL
