Well WIFI seems to work, but i no longer see the wifi/UMA symbol where the EDGE is. Has anyone had this problem before? I went to connection status to see if anything looks different and ran a diagnostic, looks all normal to me. I feel naked with out the UMA :(

Sure hope this is a network issue. Just upgraded to 5.0, last night and UMA is taking forever to authenticate with BIS ever since.

UMA was erratic for me until I resent the service books.

UMA is voice only. No authetication to BIS or anything else.

Misread. My problem was reversed. Went back to 4.6 and, it's still there.

There are two service books controlling Wi-Fi connectivity and services on the Blackberry Curve:

* Wi-Fi TCP/IP Browser [BrowserConfig] - Controls Internet browsing over Wi-Fi.

* Wi-Fi TCP/IP Transport [WPTCP] - Controls calls over Wi-Fi (Unlimited T-Mobile Calling service).

These service books are critical to UMA/Wi-Fi services on the device. If they are removed for any reason, the device may not receive them again from the Service Book downloads.

In most cases, removing and reinserting the battery will reinstall the service books, as they are hard-coded into the device software.
