Default Blackberry Policy

Please Login to Remove!

We use some third party applications on our devices, and to deploy them we have made them part of the IT policy as required applications- This is so the users are unable to delete them as we require them etc for Disater recovery purposes. That aside if we wipe a device off our BES, using the wipe and disable handheld command the device wipes itself but leaves the apps behind. I then have to reactive the bb and wipe it again and then i can manually delete the apps from the applications list. After the device is wiped for the 1st time, and i try and manually delete the applications, i get the message this is required as part of your IT policy so it seems like the policy is not fully removing until a 2nd wipe which surely cannot be correct?

Any ideas on how i can change this what is surely a setting somewhere so that it wipes the third party applications first time every time? Our BES version is 4.1.69 .

Thanks in advance...........

If you use the "Wipe and disable handheld" command wirelessly, you can switch on the following policy to delete everything (factory reset):

Remote Wipe Reset to factory Defaults

Explanation from the Policy Guide:

"Specify whether the BlackBerry device resets itself to factory default settings when it receives the Erase Data and Disable Handheld IT Admin command over the wireless network. Set this IT policy rule to True to require the BlackBerry device to permanently delete its stored IT policy and delete all third party applications, in addition to performing the BlackBerry device wipe process."

This should do the trick for you.

No, that's in the "Security Policy" group. The "WLAN Policy" is only used for WiFi specific policies.
