How do I get rid of the hour glass coming on all the time? I have the latest tmo version 4.5 and still experience this. It is very annoying.

I tried doing this update with my unlocked 8320 using it on ATT network. i got an error and had to do a wipe. after having a little trouble i was able to get it done and it installed the new OS. come to find out i know have mms on my 8320 and yes im using it on att network im not sure how it worked but it did. I don''t know if anyone else has had this happen to them but its awsome. only problem is my wifi don't work now. its almost like it transformed it into an att phone. If any one have any comments let know. I'd like wifi back but i think if i tried sending the service books or something it might get rid of my mms. I'm fairly new at this so not sure how to go about it.

i just updated to v4.5. everything seems fine so far except now when i use the browser, it brings me to t-zone. and i tried to go to options>advanced>browser and change the default config to wifi which is what i've been using when i was at home. but now there isnt that option for me to choose. only t-zone and hotspot browser. anyone know how to fix that? so i can have the wifi option back?

I have downloaded the T-Mo version but when I plug in the Blackberry, open DM and run the Application Loader, there is no message to upgrade. I assume this is because I already have a version of 4.5.0.81 on my BB.

Is there a way to get the BB to install the T-Mobile version. Thanks.
You'll need to wipe your device first (see link below for download and instructions/help for JL_Cmder), then install the Tmo version of 4.5.0.81 through DM. As always, make sure to back up your device before starting.

I just did this last night and it worked great.

There is ABSOLUTELY NO reason to wipe the device to load TMo's version of .81 if you already have another .81. It's EXACTLY the same thing. NO difference AT ALL.

Not sure where I claimed switching versions of 81 would make a difference, but hey, thanks for the value-add, not to mention a deft touch with the ALL CAPS.

Thanks to everyone that responded to my newbie question. I've decided to stick with my Rogers version of .81 and not switch to the T-Mo version. Thanks again.

Yeah i downloaded this upgrade a few days ago and installed it with no problems, OS did seem a wee bit faster, but the battery life wasnt good for me and also had to do several battery pulls. YES the audio being so low still hastn changed, it's making me quite angry that they havent noticed this flaw, i cant hear the phone when its in my pocket or in the other room ( there being regular house noises TV, kids, etc). Cant someone come out with an app with an audio boost. The one it has seems to have hardly any effect. *SIGH* ill just have to keep waiting....i downgraded back to the tomobile version .81, i lost my myfavs options with the .108 also.

I'm running this OS now and don't like it. My 8310 locks up at least once a day. I hate that!! I loaded the OS with my memory stick in it. Would that have made a difference? The only thing I wanted over my original version was the video camera feature and I've only used it once. Plan on using it more, just not yet.

Would it be benifitial if I were to reload this new OS? If so, how do I reload if it's already on there??
thanks

Well, this particular thread/OS is for the 8320, not the 8310. That might be the issue.

Default UK Unlock

Ok thanks alot and sorry for duplicating it.

Just one more thing? I am waiting for the unlock code for my Orange handset so that I can use my T-Mobile sim in it, will I still be able to use the unlock code when it arrives if i upgrade the OS?

Many thanks

Yes, you'll stil be able to unlock it. The unlock code is per the IMEI number and the OS has no affect.

i've done the memory free up method on my current OS and i want to upgrade. Does that mean i will have to do that stuff all over again? like editing the file so certain things don't get installed?

Default 4.5.0.52 vs .81

This has probably been asked somewhere in these 200+ posts but I don't know how to search inside threads.

I have v4.5.0.52 on my Curve and I just noticed T-Mobile released 4.5.0.81 (like this post). The common question - Is there any difference between 52 and 81 that should make me want to upgrade? Other than this is an official Tmo release.

Thanks!!!!

Paul, there is a link at the top of this page "SEARCH THIS THREAD". That would be a good place to start.

Besides this is not even the latest OS for this model.
