I'll prolly upgrade BES (Using Domino) to 4.0.6 to get the Sync Server Table. Then send a mass message to all of my users to go to blackberry DOT com/dst2007 {URL ninja'd by a Go-Bot} to download the appropriate patch automatically based on the version of their BlackBerry Device Software.
Seems like the easiest solution to me.
Server ain't there yet 'cause I've been busy/lazy. Take your pick!

You should create a software configuration which should require 0 user intervention.

Our Server Team is concerned about sharing a UNC path on our servers. They want to keep everything as locked down as possible. Besides, if most of my users can figure out how to download GoogleMaps for B'Berrys and other apps, they can (hopefully) follow a link. Or am I putting too much faith in them to do ACTUAL work instead of playing?

You can share a UNC path on another computer if you wish, it should work the same way. You will need to install the BlackBerry Manager on that machine to get it to work correctly.
Besides if you have no software configurations and application policies your handhelds aren't locked down at all and your BES could be subject to BBProxy if your users download it.

Thanks for the info. We've locked things down pretty tight for users on the desktop level. Most are base users in an XP environment and LANDesk tightens the reins a bit more. Any peer-to-peer shares or UNC shares are monitored closely and are very discouraged.

Has anyone been able to log in and download the DST stuff? It won't take my usual blackberry.com support password!
Thanks

Thanks, but for now I was looking for the device patch, so that we can test sending it wirelessly.

I called T-Support earlier as I also thought I was losing it. I guess the article went up to early, was told to check back next week .. the article has since fallen off the list (I HATE the new document search BTW)
In case anyone missed it .. it's KB12016

Both articles are still there but they are pre-emptive articles for when the patch is released.

Let me ask this question here, since the other thread was closed and I was looking for specifics.
What specific steps are you guys taking in your companies to prepare for this DST change on the bb handheld side? My boss was asking me how people are implementing this change in other companies and I was looking for answers to give to him. We have over 500 users, and most don't have the blackberry manager software on their PCs. I would hate to have to physically update each user with the latest software or patch, if I can just wirelessly push the patch to them.
Like I said, Just want some specifics versus generalities. Anything you guys could provide would be great.

Yes you can set up a software configuration and push it wirelessly, It's been mention several times in this thread.
The Admin guide walks you through setting up a software config.

If you have BES 4.05 / 4.1 the KB noted has the exact steps, if not you can always have your users go to the website RIM is setting up and it will push the update via USB to their device.
For those that blow off your email, once they miss a few meetings they'll get the message.
We will be using the OTA push from BES 4.1 - no user action required.

My TAM said 4.0.5 will work. I have used the push for others and it worked. Though I will be putting sp6 on this weekend.

I think you are right if you see the part near the bottom:

Administrator Initiated (no user action required): The Administrator can wirelessly push the patch to their company's BlackBerry smartphones, which will wirelessly download and apply the appropriate patch for that user’s BlackBerry smartphone and applicable BlackBerry Device Software version.

So as long as you can the cod and alx files from RIM you should be able to push them down. But I think you will need to create a software config for each model for each carrier. That part is going to suck. Im just going to spam my bb users telling them to go to the site on the bb and upgrade them that way. Easy for me! (Im kind of lazy)

For hopefully good reason the KB article has been pulled. I'm crossing my fingers the link will be activated once it's back online
