A small office of users are trying to sync to shared Public folder (1417 contacts) however sync is failing.

I have checked the Intellisync log:
SyncEngine::GetConnectorDataFile failed with error code 0x80043BD4
Googling this does not give me any resolutions.
I checked required fields have valid characters, but still does not work.
I enabled mapping for only First name and last name, which also fails.
If I wipe the handset and sync, it will fails at a different contact record each time.
I created a new contact folder, enabled sync, and added contacts 4 by 4 each time, and its fine, but with 1417 contacts, I stopped at about 600.
I tested on another handset (Bold 9700) and the sync works fine.
Does anyone know of any problems with the handset.
The problem happens on all four 9300 handsets in the office, all of which are on BIS, and have tried a wipe and fresh sync.
Any help appreciated.
