Default Can message alerts repeat . . .

Please Login to Remove!

First post . . . hello all!

My Son liked my new Tour last night when I showed it to him.
He asked me if there was a way to have messages like SMS repeat their alerts.

I know what he means, it gives us one short chirp and if you don't catch that chirp you never know you have a message until you look at the screen at some point and see the white star indicator.

I know I can change the sound to a longer alert, but can I have it repeat periodically until I view it like I think my Treo 755 did?

Thx

Wirelessly posted (White and Nerdy)

There are 3rd party apps for that, but it is not built in. Look for the blinking red light for notifications.

Thx for the replies . . . I figured there would be a 3rd party app but I was hoping for that feature to be built into the BB.

Being a long time PDA user and frequenting the forums I have found most users problems are a result of adding 3rd party untested and unapproved apps to their new PDA's and then complain that their OS becomes unstable.

I know because I've done this too many times myself

So especially with a new (to me) OS platform with my new Tour I would prefer to hold off on adding any apps unless they came with the tour.

Once I see the Tour itself is stable I don't mind adding a few apps.

In my opinion, this is why one sees all those "returning my Tour to store" threads. Because the first thing they do is download unstable 3rd party apps and then blame the Tour.

Thx for those two apps and I try them out, but I need to hold off awhile as I only picked the Tour up last week.

I am amazed that a Blackberry leans towards serving the business community more so than say a Palm device yet something as important business wise to be reminded to pick up an email or a text message by a recurring audible alert I would have thought to be OEM feature.

Oh well, maybe it will appear with a software upgrade someday

Love the Tour though . . . Seems BB has incorporated solutions to all my pet peeves that I've had with the Treo over the past 5 years that Palm was unwilling to address with software fixes.

Palm has really become an outdated OS over the past 5 years and their stock price when compared to Rimm's says it all!
