Our setup is pretty basic. We're running SBS 2003 as our main server which has exchange built into it.

I'm also running a separate BESX server running Server 2003.

Everything was running perfectly until recently when we started getting problems with the SBS machine. For some reason, it kept falling over. Of course when this happened the BB users stopped getting mail.

However once service of the SBS machine was restored and desktop users started getting mail again, the BESX machine was still out of service. It was not sending any mail out to BB's. A reboot (I'm sure I could have stop/started services) sorted it and straight away normal service is resumed and BB's are getting mail.

But why is this happening? Why is the BESX server not automatically resuming service? Is there a setting or something I can do so that it automatically starts sending again?

Hope I've explained in my pigeon English what is happening?

once the connction to excahnge is lost you will need to reboot BES

not so much llike its meant to happen, but with out a connection to exchange, BES will fail
