This is my first post in these forums.

I have used these forums previously to get help for many problems and the solutions that I have received were really great.

I have a BES v5.0.2 environment with 30 users.

Handsets range for Curve 8900, Curve 8520, Curve 9300 and Bold 9700.

I am trying to disable remote file access.

As stated in the following thread:

Remote file access is enabled for all my users by default. I want to restrict this to allow only specifc users.

I have followed the steps outlined in KB21616 (How to block Remote File access for users or a group of users from the BlackBerry smartphone)

However it is not working properly.

The users that have been restricted by applying the deny file access pull rule do in fact get blocked - they cannot access files remotely. They receive a "File System Error" message.

The problem:

They cannot browse the Internet from their handsets.
When attempting to access a webpage by typing in the address they get an error "HTTP:500 Internal Server Error"

However, if they go to their homepage - BlackBerry Bookmarks they can access Google or Yahoo pages from there and perform searches etc.

How do I restore full Internet browsing and keep remote file access disabled ?
