Default Amount You Personally Pay for Health Insurance

Please Login to Remove!

Let's see if I can figure out how to post a poll.

How much do you personally -- out of your own pocket, not your employer's -- pay each month for health insurance for you and (if applicable) your family.

$50 month + modest copays, so we're probably in the $51-$75 bracket month to month. That's for health, dental and vision for 8 people. We're very lucky.

I'm in the $126-250 bracket i guess. $140 per month / (single) self-employed.

None of you are paying the TRUE cost of your healthcare (I guess Test is if that is the total cost and no employer contribution).

For the remainder, your employer is footing 80% of the cost.

So far, I could combine all the numbers mentioned, double it, and our family monthly insurance cost is still more.

Wirelessly posted (overwhelmingly stressed)

I pay out of pocket approx 140 + copays. Employer foots the rest

If not more than 80%. Amazing how when you run the business you know what the total dollar cost is.

Yep, I am technically self employed, I own the business, but I know the combined figure... between the company portion and the employer portion. I guess the figure is technically for the other thread... but the way I look at, I pay it. :(

Nada for me. Just a small co-pay when required. Wife's plan covers dental and vision. Uncle Sam pays mine. The result of 23 years flying military aircraft all over the world. I have the t-shirts and bullet holes to prove it.

As for the true cost, I bet no one really can answer that. IMHO, if you get the malpractice lawyers out of the equation, then the cost would probably become more reasonable and care would improve.

The cost per covered individual for a high-end plan is ridiculous -- and I frankly figured that the small business owners who know what the full freight charges are would in fact give that number. I've been there.
