To be honest, I think while Dashle's mistake was bigger in terms of actual dollars I think it was more of an oversight/mistake than Geithner's. Dashle reported this mistake and began filing papers on it in the middle of last year. That's clearly, long before the Big O ever nominated him. While not a fan of his political opinions I don't think Dashle is a dishonest guy. On the other hand, Geithner only paid when he was nominated and it became apparent it could be an issue. He is a crook.

Dashle did the right thing. I think he could have stayed in it and he would have been confirmed. He knew that and withdrew anyway. I like that. Geithner, knew he was a crook and kept going for it. I think Geithner is a smart guy and may do a good job but, IMO, he's a cheat.
