The first article said Saeed was the "...founder of the terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) that India has blamed for the 26/11 Mumbai carnage..."
I gather from the second attack that the US government also believes him to be responsible for the attacks.
However, it doesn't say whether there is evidence available to support these claims. All I can gather that they know for sure is that he founded a terror organization that is believed to be responsible. I don't know how things work in Pakistan, but in the US, if an organization committed a crime, you'd still have to prove that each individual member was involved the crime to successfully prosecute them for it. Proof would have to exist for each person.
I wonder: was he released due to lack of supporting evidence?
Or was this solely a political move on the part of the judge and his superiors?
I'd love to see some of the bleeding heart comments on this one....
Send in a Seal or SF team and whack the dude while he is sitting at home chiilin with a beer and looking over his future attack plans....
Ooppss.... I did it now, here come the bleeding hearts... I know, we should give him a hug, and try and be his best buddy.... But I still say whack him!

I have read several other articles as well and they make no mention of evidence of his involvement. But knowing he founded the group I would think its best to error on the safe side and at-least keep him in custody. The government says they are going to appeal to their supreme court in hopes to overturn his release.

Evidence has suggested that the Lashkar-e-Tahiba is responsible for the terrorist attacks. The main accused, Ajmel Amir Kasab, is on trial at the moment, here in Bombay. He has given a full confession stating that he was deployed by the LeT for the heinous crimes that were committed on 26/11.
Saeed is by NO MEANS innocent, and Pakistan has done this, solely because half the country (excuse the extreme patriotism), is ruled by terrorists. No, there is no love loss between the two countries, so i don't even SEE ANY logic in Saeed being released. Thank you USA for the support.
