I am trying to find my first ever BlackBerry. I really want one that has internet, messaging, phone calls, a camera and speaker phone. I am willing to pay up to $500, what model and model number would be good? Also, I have a question about the internet. Do I have to set up a connection or will I already have a connection set up when I get my phone?

You want either the bold or the curve. Two very rock solid phones,you may be able to get the bold for 500.00.

And for the internet you will need to subscribe to a data package,the packages vary depending on your provider.
Most usually offer an unlimited data plan option,it would be the most optimal.

It's definitely the device of the year, and worth every penny of the basic retail price. For a first Blackberry you could always pick up a used but clean Curve 8310 from our Buy/Sell/Trade forums here at BBF. Those can be found for about $200. No, it's not the device the Bold is, but for a first-time user the price may be attractive enough to make it your best choice.

I've had a ton of different Blackberrys (and Nokias, SE phones, Palm Treos, and Moto phones) and nothing compares to Blackberry.

I like the Curve. 8310 if you are going with ATT. The Bold is a nice device but the 3G is still having trouble so it might cause you to dislike Blackberry just because one device is a bit spotty. THe Curve on the other hand is rock solid and with the upgraded 4.5 OS you even get the video camera.

Blackberry is not free. You get what you pay for, so choose your service provider very carefully. Okay.

At the moment.... The Curve is $99 after a Mail In Rebate of $100 thru AT&T. Monthly the Unlimited Minutes plan is $99, the Unlimited Text plan is $20 and the Unlimited Data plan is $30. So... You are looking at a base of $150 a month to have everything unlimited on a BB. If you don't text you can save $20.
