My new Blackberry bold displays wrong caller id. Its so annoying that every time i pick up the call I get to that its a different caller and started to pick up calls which i don't like to take. It displays the previous caller or sometimes a few alphabets of previous caller or sometimes other number or just number. Its frustrating any here got an solution for this. Please help

You're the 6th report i've heard of CID reporting the number of the previous caller and not the current one and i seriously hope it doesn't happen to me because i wouldn't know how to address the issue.

If you find a fix or if your carrier is any helpful on this please update the thread because i would like to know. Thanks.

I've got reports here of a few users with that problem. We are on the Base OS, i am going to try and upgrade them to see if it helps.

I am running .593 and am also having this issue. I am going to wipe and reload .593 here shortly to see if it helps.

I resolved that issue after loading an OS a few versions prior to 545; not sure which though. Running .593 now and haven't seen that for months now.

do a security wipe without backing up the settings and do not restore the settings. this solved it for me, upgrading dose nothing if you restore your settings.

Use the 1st sticky in the 9700 forum to upgrade the OS. I had the same problem, upgraded to .593 and that solved the problem.

I don't have the problem until I upgraded the OS to .593 about two weeks ago. It seems that the some of the contacts in the contact book keep getting mess up with other contacts. It seems that automaticlly merge some of the contact together. I did have syncronization over the air setup with google mail. Is it becuase of the sychronization? It worked just fine before I upgrade the OS.

Anyone has the similar situation? It really annoying.

Gmail has several duplicating fields in contacts info.
According to Google Help you should AVOID updating contacts using Google account, and should update using bb. Hope that helps.

Are you recommending only one way sync from BB to Google Gmail?

No, I'm not recommending a one way sync, I'm not even sure if you CAN have a one-way Google sync. I just shared the info that I had. What you do with it is entirely up to you.

I occasionally have the same caller id problem with mine. I checked and the latest software for my carrier is the .442. So what do I do? Can I upgrade even though my phone is at the latest available for my phone?
I am with Telus in Canada, 9700 bold.
