Tomorrow is March 6. Is there any news on when the 7130e flip will ship?

Does anyone have the Fortte flip-style case for the 8700? I'm wondering if it's a pain in the neck to use the BB with that flip cover hanging behind the unit while you're typing. It looks like it might be a bit cumbursome, but I'm concerned that the open face case doesn't have a clear vinyl screen protector. I wear my BB on my hip, and I have a habit of whacking into things, so having a face-out case is out of the question.

I pre-ordered the Fortte flip case for my 7130e a couple of weeks ago when PRB promised they would be in stock and would ship on March 6.

Good to their word, Fortte shipped my case, and I received it a couple of days ago.

IMHO, the case is well designed and very well crafted. The fit and feel of this case is excellent. In the past, I have owned quite a few Krusell cases for my various models of Blackberries and other PDAs. I feel the Fortte case is far superior.

A few people who reviewed the Sena case (which has a similar design, flap) reported it being a little awkward holding the flap back while talking. Like anything, I'm sure it just takes a little getting used to.

FYI, Vaja, has available, an open case similar to the Fortte, but Vaja's has a screen protector built in.

lgreenberg,

Thanks for the info I'm thinking I may just break down and buy the Fortte flap case, because I'm afraid that even with the vinyl screen protector, I might bash the face enough to crack the plastic screen cover on the BB unit itself. Thanks again!

Not that it has anything to do with this thread, but I grew up in Framingham - south side by Ashland. Good to see a local on here!

Has anyone here bought the Open Face Cases for their phones? I am strongly considering an open face case for my 7105t. I just ordered screen protectors for it and should be getting them soon.

I broke down and just ordered the "best skins ever" (I STILL have a hard time saying that, like ShaneToronto), so I'm thinking about the Fortte open faced case again, but I just can't bring myself to use the keyboard lock. That's my main reason I want an open faced case with a really powerful magnet in the clip to activate the sleeper function so I'm not accidentally hitting buttons. I think I'm just being picky now

I will be ordering one shortly. They even personalize the cases if u want. I was asking because I am about to throw my Krusell Multidapt Classic Swivel Clip Case out the window. It worked for a while when I first got it but it eventually got to where it allowed food, dust, particles from the case itself, etc. to get stuck on the screen (this required me taking the BB out of the case, cleaning it, and forcing it back in. I just received screen protectors to prevent this on my 7105t); the trackwheel became impossible to use in the case; and my fingers slipped across the plastic covering the keyboard too much (Thank GOD for SureType and AutoText). I also ended up taking the clip off the back of the case because I can't use the clip anywhere on my wheelchair so I throw the phone in my backpack. I have gone back to using the OEM cases that came with the BB's until I get the new case. Thanks for the review.

Billclark, I don't think open face cases have the sleeper function because the screen is left open (someone correct me if I'm wrong). Check out a horizontal, lateral, or flip case if u want the sleeper function.

LOL, that was just my wishful thinking-aloud I know there's nothing available that does that, but I can't imagine that it would be too hard to pop a strong magnet into the belt clip. That way, when you clip the case onto the belt clip, the stronger magnet would affect the sensor in the BB. Here's to hoping one of the manufacturers figures it out. What I was thinking about was buying one of the Fortte cases and mod the clip myself by sinking a magnet into it somehow. Another project for another day ;)

Is it just me or does these cases look an awful lot like the Fortte case?

Yep, it's been discussed in other threads.

I'm not exactly sure what the relationship is between eAccess and Fortte but it's clear that they are the same case. My guess is that Fortte is making them for eAccess.
