Default Exchange 2003 to 2010 swing migration + BES5

Hi Folks. Had a long chat with RIM level 1 support, the rep was really unhelpful.... It really doesn't seem that difficult a question.

In the process of a swing migration from Exchange 2003 to 2010. the 2003 machine is a single server, and the 2010 machine has all roles on the single server.

In addition, I have BES 5.0.4 MR4 installed on a separate box, with about 170 handheld users running - these users are still on 2003, and will be the last to get migrated over.

I have verified that I have the correct MAPI client version on the BES machine.

So, here's the gist of my question. Per KB22601, my next step is to move the BESAdmin mailbox over to the 2010 server, and create a new throttle policy for the BESAdmin user - no problem. I have 3 questions from here:

1) Once I move the BESAdmin mailbox to 2010, will the BES still have visibility into the mailboxes on 2003, and will mail continue to flow to their handhelds?

2) Assuming the answer to question 1 is "yes", I can then do a phased approach of my handheld users - don't have to do all at once?

3) Once I move a handheld user's mailbox from 2003 to 2010, how does the BES know it moved? I recall when we did our 5.5 to 2003 migration, we ran the handheldcleanup tool after each mailbox was moved, and the BES would start flowing to their handheld. Is this still the approach?

Thank You.

Danny
