CS2 = 9.0
CS = 8.0
...and 7.0 was the last one that was labeled with a version number...

Does anybody know how to reduce "home screen resource size"? I keep getting this warning everytime I export a theme.

you have to use like photoshop or an image editing software to deduce the size. it has to be 60kb or less

Thanks. I am trying without luck. I have reduced the size to (240x160); change format (PNG-JPEG) and reduce the opacity... but nothing!!!

If you are using Photoshop, use the Save for Web option and select PNG-8 and see if this will make the File Size less than 60 KBytes.
Hope this helps.

The thing is that after all the changes (including opacity), when i have the right size and one of valid formats from Photoshop. Then, I am going to insert it in plazmic but it shows as a solid file.

In the photoshop Save for Web view, one of the options is custom, optimize for File Size. Set this to 56K. Should work
Hope this helps.

No luck either. let's take it one step at a time.
I open the 7200 homescreen mask from plazmic themes which is 240x160 which when it opens looks like it has some opacity.
The moment i change it to jpeg, it is solid. No opacity! Can this be? Because the size remains the same...

Don't change it to jpeg. Jpeg does NOT support transparency. Save it as PNG. This is your problem. The PTB automatically changes jpegs to png, at an increased size.
Hope this helps.

In reference to your homescreen mask, using that file in anything other than 100% opacity will only fog or make you wallpaper seem less clear.
So if you want the wallpaper to appear foggy or not totaly clean/clear use the default home screen mask. If you want to see your wallpaper totally perfectly use a clear home screen mask image.

ok. Thank you for your comments everyone. For you to have an idea of what i am trying to do. On the plazmic theme builder, I have inserted the default 8700 background (JPEG) measuring 240x160 and on the mask, i am trying to insert the default 7200 home screen mask (PNG). It says it is too big. Is it because of the background being JPEG? I am just trying new things!

I think i may have done it!!! I changed the background format from JPEG to PNG since you guys said that JPEG doesn't support transparency. It was like the background was not letting transparency through! hehe.
Thank you for all your help!!
