IBM Domino 6.5.4

I have a user who has been having a problem neither ourselves or BB HD have been able to figure out.

When she deletes an email on the BB, it just disappears. Never goes to the Trashcan. It gets completely eliminated from the device and out of the Domino server as if it never existed. Thereby also eliminating any possibility of restoring should she need that particular email in the future.

Has anybody come across this befor?

Its normal that it disapears from the BlackBerry. Not so normal that the deleted message is not in her Notes trash can. Try replacing the design on her mail file. How long is the soft delete set to in her client?

Thank you d_Fisher, I appreciate your reply. To answer your questions, I'm more or less basics when it comes to the BB here @ our place of business. Normally we have the BB techs take care of the issues which are more advanced. However, they have no idea. We've already recreated her mail file and have done what I believe is all of the basic troubleshooting and such. As for the "soft delete set time in her client". I'm not too sure I understand that question. Are you speaking of the primary domino mail client or BES? If you are asking how fast it deletes, it's immediate on the BB, and about 5-10 before it gets whacked out of the Domino server. Hope thats the answer.

The Lotus Notes client has a soft delete function. Basically, when you delete something it is marked to be deleted, but waits to permanently the file for a specified number of hours. Check what this time is set to. Open the Notes client, click on Tools > Preferences > check Soft Delete setting.
