ok, so 210 is stable and contains some good updates for me to consider upgrading? by which i mean, is there any risk involved?

I think updating is totally up to the user. If your bb is working fine and doing what you want it to do; then maybe don't risk updating.

I started with .162 on rogers and my bold ran fine, but i was only getting 1 day-ish battery life. I then went to .185 with the same result, and then .190 with marginally better bat life.

Went to .210 and when I posted at 4:11pm yesterday, i was at 85% (unplugged at 8am) - its now 1:35 am and Im at 65%.

I still wish the bold had the same bat life as my curve, but alas; 3G is a biatch.

Am I reading it wrong or does the thread title say OS ver. 4.6.0.331?

I just upgraded to .210, did they really skip all the way up to .331 or is it just a typo?

I have equivalent battery life on .190 - in fact this is my second day running from 6:30 am yesterday to 9:30pm now and have 10% left.

Anyone know when the next official firmware is coming out? Seem like there's a lot of betas coming out already... Never used to wait this long for a official one to come out. I don't want to use a beta.

They're /all/ beta, aren't they? Carriers just decide on their own when they want to use an upgraded OS and put it on their site for DLing. AT&T is usually about 6 months behind the rest, or so it seems.

I'm using 210 now without any problems, except maybe for a touchy wi-fi connection. The battery life seems improved, but otherwise I don't see any real differences from 190.

I'm not sure... If it's all the same, then why aren't people allowed to have beta links on here?

I remember someone that had a beta, and tried to upgrade to the same version but the official one... And some items turned out to be downgraded...

So I don't know.

I don't know, either, about the difference between betas and official releases of the same version number, or whether there /is/ any difference. I have seen apparent downgrading that results from other causes.

I think the reason for not allowing beta links is that only the official releases of a version are certain to be unadulterated versions direct from Blackberry. When they are "in the wild" they may have been or could have been changed by someone. In other words, use the unofficial versions at your own risk, and the forum doesn't want to assume responsibility for that risk.

I am just a forum member and have no connection with BB.

I have an AT&T device and upgraded my firmware today to .190 however after the upgrade i can't send or receive mail. I'm on a BES server so I can't seem to send myself the service books. Tried rebooting, removing the battery etc. Also my web browser icon has disappeared. Can't find it anywhere. How do I get that back? I contacted my BES admin for help but wasn't sure if there was anything I could try in the meantime.

hi guys i need some help. I didnt follow the instructions as stated here below. i downloaded the file installed it and hooked up my bold and clicked apllication loader in the DM. now the OS version is 147

1. Download the above OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

HELP?!

Can this update not be done using BB Desktop manager (or must it only be gotten using the manufacturer's link provided above)?

Are you guys STILL having problems downloading the new OS using 4.7?

I followed the instructions (at the beginning of this thread to download this newest OS. How can I confirm that my phone has in fact accepted this download. When I go to OPTIONS > ABOUT, it does say the "application portion" is V4.6.0.190 (but shows nothing about the overall OS being the latest "331"). Sorry for sounding so clueless.

So for those who have "downloaded this new OS and also tried Opera Mini before", which browser are you all partial too? Some here have suggested that the new OS helps the BB browser become a little faster. Faster & better than Opera?

what i also dont get is how is it possible by deleting a file you get a newer version while the site of BB says that this is the newest update available.
