If you have the spare time i would export his calendar from outlook, delete the entrie calendar and see if he still has the issue. That would confirm the corrupt entry theory. We ahve seen this quite a few times, but for me it tends to hang rather than just fail. Also check your event logs for the 20035 error code. You may have diff versions of CDO.dll. If you do have loads of these, just do a search and you should find yoru answer.
