Default SMS Settings on BB Bold with AT&T

Hey Guys,

I am a BB newbie, just got the Bold on ebay unlocked.

I am loving the bold, and I have a problem now where I am unable to send/receive SMS. Not to sure about MMS, but I can receive pushed email. I should mention that texting worked since I owned it which has been about a week, just it stopped working yesterday.

I called AT&T today and they did something, I pulled the battery and SIM card and rebooted, her test message came, but it took 5-7 minutes. I sent another one to a friend, and didn't get it, nor did I get theirs when they sent it to me.

I am not too sure, but perhaps my SMS settings are incorrect?

Here is what I have

Data Coding: 7 bit
Service Center: +13123149810
Disable Autotext: No
Leave messages on SIM card: No
Network to send over: circuit switched
number of previous items: 7
retries: 3

is it possible something here is wrong? i dunno what else it can be, as this is frustrating me to no end!

It's extremely rare that SMS issues are due to settings on the BB. Call at&t again (it's not uncommon to get a clueless rep) and have them re-check your SMS provisioning.

allright i called them back, the first technician was equally as incompetent but i was transferred to the real tech support where the lady was extremely generous. the first non-tech agent wouldnt give me her number, well she wanted to but her manager didn't let her. to test i can send messages as nobody was in my office at the time (i called during lunch hour).

anyways, the real agent gave me a test phone to use against and everything is setup. she had me turn it off, etc., but the real kicker was she had me go into a different cell tower to reset settings and it worked.

i guess it pays to persist with them, and she was incredibly awesome to talk with.
