Please Login to Remove!

i wanna get a blackberry and i like the bold with verizon but i love using a headset exclusively with cell phones. Just a habit i have gotten into over the years. i went into the verizon store.. plugged my corded headset into the blackberry and it doesnt work. I tried multiplle blackberries and still nothing. Is there a switch i have to turn on to activate headset mode too? Im using the plantronics mx 200.. also what is the best headset to use with a blackberry

What is the size of the jack? I'm guessing you need a converter.

It should work, but I highly recommend getting a different headset that takes advantage of the media features of the newer devices. My personal preferences are Shure SE115m or Etymotic HF2.

those headsets you mentioned are all expensive and you have to put both earbuds in your ear for them to work. im looking for something easy. I love to blackberry bold 9650 but what is keeping me from buying it is the fact that the planttronics mx 200 headset does not work with it. unless im missing something

I purchased 4 converters with a lot of frustration until I discovered that Verizon carries the RIM version that works on the newer stereo type required. Very very expensive $5.00 .

That's not correct. You don't need both ear buds in to use them. In fact, when I want to use the phone feature, I remove the left earbud.

They are expensive, but they are absolutely worth it.

Have you referer to the specification of the bb about how to use bluetooth headset.
Here's the normal step of how to use bluetooth headset:
1. First press the" Blackberry" key, then it goes to the "Optional" key and choose the "bluetooth" and press the "Blackberry" key for about 3 seconds.
2. Press the power button of the bluetooth headset till the ligth is turned on.
3. Then click the "research" button of the BB to find your bluetooth headset. The normal code is 0000 or 1234. Don't forget to press the "connect" button. Then you can use the bluetooth headset for calling.
Best wishes to you!

He does not want bluetooth.

If you don't care about quality, why not just buy a new one with the right plug size for your BB? You have probably spent too much time on this already.

I agree with DC/DC - if you ever listen to music it is well worth it to get a good quality headet.
