I have a storm and I am using 5.0.0.230 if you want me to try anything just holler. thomasdotmdotparker@gmaildotcom This is a great app and if there is anything I can do to help just let me know.

Sorry about the dots in the email address but the system wouldn't let me enter my email address.

[QUOTE=tateu;1424805]Anyone with Beta OS 5.0 try out BBWeather v0.87? I downloaded JDE 5.0 Beta today and BBWeather v0.86 crashed in the 5.0 simulator. I found 3 places in the code that made it crash, fixed them and now v0.87 runs in the simulator. I don't have 5.0 on my phone so can't try it on a real device.

OTA

I tried searching but found no resolution to fix my issue. Any help in pointing me to the right spot would be appreciated as I am obviously not searching for the right key words.

With BBLight, I have 1.95 and everything works for me (i.e. vibrate+ringing simulataneously, screen light up on sms)...the only problem is that whenever my screen lights up when i receive sms, an alert pops up saying: "Do you want to allow the application BBLight to act as a server?" and the option it gives me is "Do not ask for sms_recieve" but I can't even choose the option. I always press allow anyways, but it still pops up every time i recieve sms. I have even tried pressing deny, but the same result occurs.

I am running 0.91.2 on OS 5.0.0.323 on a 9530 and everything is running very well so far. When I upgraded the OS last night, I had to uninstall and reinstall an earlier version of bbweather multiple times, but it finally did work. I then decided to try .91.2 today and that's running well also.

I haven't travelled anywhere yet though so i can't yet report on GPS.

Hey tateu,
I was just wondering if you are the one who is developing the BBLight app? If you are I just wanted to say that you are doing an awesome job! And if/when you do come out with the next version, is it possible to add the vibrate+tone function to both the sms, email and calender/task notifcations also? Thanks for all your hard work!

Question BBWeather does Not Work

Ive recently Upgraded My BB Storm 9530 to the 5.0 Software.
So I Lost the Application to BB Weather
Then I Re installed it,]. I click on it & My KEYBOARD appears & Freezes My Phone? I have to do a Battery Pull.
So I deleted it Because I could Not Open it

I know its got to Be a RIM Problem or is there a version for the 5.0 version

Thumbs up BB Today

Good morning Mark,
Let me add my thanks to the other forum users for this posting. Is there a help file that can be used with the software, particularly BB Today. When I set it up, all of the panels seemed to work, with the exception of the stock ticker, which came up with an error message stating "bad dns address", but the weather worked the first time I retrieved the location code, but now refuses to update even after I request it to. I get a message saying that it is going to update, but then get "Unable to open connection".
Any help you can give would be appreciated. Looks like a great app, and the price is definitely right.
Thanks again,
Bill

Default bbtoday weather and stock not working properly on 7520

first of all before i even mention the problems i am having, i just want to say thanks to the "retired?" Mark R. and all of those that he has worked with for the past 6 years or so on the programs that we all are enjoying and also constantly posting our complaints about. and also thanks to all of you still carrying the "torch"
Just remember where we all were before we found people like mark and the rest of the forum users who help us all get to that: "everything at your fingertips" place with our phones.

ok.
so my really insignificant problem in my life is:

with the weather portion of bbtoday. i figured out that if you click your track wheel on the weather portion of the bbtoday then click preferences you can change your location id, just delete the id that is there and type your city name in and then click your track wheel again and then click "lookup location id."
i have disabled mds proxy.
i have read all the posts on tcp/ip ...however i do not have those options in my options.(according to the threads i have read my phone has automatic tcp/ip on the nextel iden network.)

when i do update or change the location id, it does say "retrieving weather data", then it says "invalid partner code"

i have not seen these problem messages posted here anywhere,
is there anybody out there using a 7520 on boost, that has the weather portion of the bbtoday application working properly? please help.

With that being said i have NO problems using the regular BBweather app.
but seeing as my bbtoday is the first thing i see it would be nice if i could get that weather app to work.

i use my bb7520 on boost and i have been able to get all the ota and mms fixes/workarounds to work w/ a good amount of research on the available forums. Everything is great except even with BOLT i cannot watch any videos, or listen to any music. anybody know anything about this for my phone? has anybody actually streamed music and video on their 7520?

also i noticed on a thread here; that someone is using the bblight 1.95 which i also have this version and use, however he mentioned that he had options on the bottom of his options screen that had keyboard settings, i do not see those options on my 7520, anybody know anything about this?

answers to ANY of these questions is greatly appreciated.

I hate to raise this thread from the dead, but I was installing a New OS and forgot to backup my apps before I wiped - Oops!
After installing everything I noticed that the options on BBweather no longer offered Wunderground.com as an option to pull data from. Which version Does / did have that? Was it pulled for a reason? Thanks!

You can run the .jad file over the internet (using your browser) or you can copy it and the associated .cod files to your memory card and run the .jad file from there...

The true function of the .jad files is to install software OTA (over the air).

Default Uh oh, DNS error

Today started getting net.rim.device.cldc.io.dns.DNSException: DNS error in BBWeather.

Don't know if it's temporary or if weather.com's changed something again
