That is a crock.

PocketMac is garbage. After 10 months of promises, I still have no syncing.

Default sync pocketmac and mass storage

I've just set up PocketMac for my 8800 and it worked a treat first time, and thanks to the forum, I switched my BB to mass storage and can now do all of my media management as well. Saves me having to go over to the 'dark side' and use my wifes PC.

Thumbs down Sync with Pearls

It seems from all of the replies it's a Pearl issue. I had a small issue with syncing with my 8800 first time, but after i set it to be recognised as mass storage by my MacBook it works well.

Issues about PocketMac and 8100:

1) AddressBook: the field "other" does not sync. So, if you have a phone number on your Mac set as "other", will not be sync. That's strange because there's the same field on Pearl.
More than this: if you set the sync as two-way a mess is done. This because the Pearl save the registry without "Other" as a phone (in case other is the only one) and so, when you sync again, the AddressBook appears with two entries! One, original, with the "Other" number and a second one, same name, but without any phone number.

2) iCal: the categories is a mess, also. If you set as a two-way sync it will create double appointments on your iCal. What happens is that a new category is created - PocketMac - and them, when you sync at the second time the same entry appears twice on your iCal: the original one and one for category "PocketMac". This is for "All-day" events.

So, no good experience with two-way method, that is supposed to work perfectly.

Thanks,
Fabio

Well, I think it's definitely an issue with PocketMac, since MissingSync works FLAWLESSLY every time. It's a little frustrating to have to pay $40 US to make a $300 phone work properly, but I suppose that's what we'll have to do until RIM steps up and provides support for what is obviously a growing market. If I had realized the lack of concern from them, I would have bought a Treo . . .
