I'm wondering if anyone can help me out... I really like the NCIS theme as my phone ring, but I really am starting to dislike the first few notes. Does anyone have a bit of time and the software to edit out the first couple of notes that seems to be obnoxiously loud?

Please read response #135 above. These are mp3 files which the 8700 can use as ringtones. I do not believe the 7290 can use these.

Yes. The maximum Picture Message size that the T-Mobile network can support is 300 KB.

I hope this is of some use to you with regards to the file size information you needed.

I'm on the Cingular Network and I tested out a few of the ringtones and the max file size I was able to load was the Dallas file of 509.9 KB. I tried the Star Trek Enterprise file of 513.1 KB and I received an error message "HTTP Error 413: Request Entity Too Large" So you are correct in saying the Maximum file size by most carriers is 512KB.
