Default Blackberry hang..

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all,

I received a complaint from one of my superior complaining about his blackberry. he claimed that his 8310 always hang. for the workaround, he have deleted all mails in his blackberry. but thats mean he need to delete all important mail as well.

i check his mailbox size and found out he is using 1.5GB of storage on the SAN!!! (OMG!!!)..

my question is:-

1. for those who are using blackberry, to ensure the blackberry works fine, what is the ideal mailbox sizes?
2. 8310 equipped with SD card. does the blackberry use the SD card for memory swapping (operating system + swapping mail) or its just for the camera + file storage only?
3. sometimes the deleted mail in the blackberry is not deleted. the mail are still in the blackberry inbox. whats the problem and how to mitigate this problem?

any suggestion are highly appreciated. thanks.

Doesn't matter; a BB will only get the frist 2KB of a message and if it runs low / out of space it will purge old data.

Just for camera + file storage only. The OS doesn't use it to store data; even temporarily.

Check these out:

KB13814 - Messages on BlackBerry smartphone are deleted due to low memory
KB04853 - How to enable hard deletes
KB04863 - Permanent deletion of email messages in Microsoft Outlook does not reconcile to the BlackBerry smartphone
