Default first impressions of 9780

well had the phone for a few days. Not sorry I made the switch although in reality my tour was doing everything just as well for my needs. I am hoping my feeling that the phone is not built as stout as the tour or even bold 9700 is proved wrong. I just get this feeling they skimped on the quality. Maybe its just the more one color and no chrome band that is throwing me off. The key and all functions work very well and I am liking the track pad now. (had no issues with my tour ball) I know what some of the complaints are now about 0S6 and moving around, a bit of a learning curve there. For me it would be nice to have an option to close the favorites and frequent windows. Or to just be able to scroll down without opening tray or clicking the all button. But its all good and new and will get used to it.
One disappointment is the browser, I heard and expected much more improvement then I have so far discovered. I think in many cases it is more difficult to read web sites. The mobile sites are not to bad but other ones suck very bad. I have had no luck trying to read anything posted on a forum, and was able to sort of do it with my old phone.
Still learning, that was my one concern with not going with a torch which I am not sure how much better it would be either, I think that a android or like phone would have been the way to go for that. Oh well still have this old PC sitting on my desk and it works real good for that. Just some thoughts for those that might think they need an upgrade.
Also the quality of the leather case that comes with it is pitiful compared to the one with a 9700 (sons phone) or the tour which I put back in the box. (with the new case I am keeping the old one)

Glad that you are enjoying the new device. Personally I think the de-chromed look is quite nice.

To open the tray without having to use menu, open tray simply give a firm swipe down in the trackpad anf it will open.

To get shortcut keys on the homescreen: Go to homescreen, Menu key, Options and change Launch by Typing to application shortcuts.

Regarding website have you zoomed in? And if its too small then maybe a font change should do?

More great tips on the homescreen options. As far as fonts I have it set high but does not seen to work in web pages. Zoom works but then you have to scroll across. Depends on the page this forum is useable even though its small. Other forums even crackberry does not work as well for me

I have just upgraded from 9700 to 9780 and I can't believe how fast everything is, os6 is very good on the eye and I can't put it down.. Recommend going for 9780 over 9700 any day, although 9700 is a good phone the 9780 newer features makes it a winner in my eyes
