Wirelessly posted (White and Nerdy)

Why would you only want to use 3G???? And I don't believe you can do it either

ast_ph - how do you set the Mobile Network Options / Network Mode to 3G only.
I do not see that option.

Not on T-Mobile in the US. 2G, 3G&2G only.
What version of the OS are you running?

T-Mobile's 3G network is very sparse, even in cities where they are 3G. You would have a very negative experience if you had that setting on their network. I imagine this has something to do with it.

I have almost continuous 3G coverage on my 9700.
I bet somewhere there's a map for that.
YMMV.

Interesting, on my BB Bold 9700, it got 3G, 3G and 2G. I guess it depends on how carriers set it up.

Yes, i was in reply to the comment "Trying upgrading the OS to a non vendor specific version."

All of the software is written by RIM and tested and released by the carriers.

I am running the latest available version and have run many different versions. Never seen 3G only.

NJBlackBerry, the only way to set to 3G is set automatic to manual network selection. It works.

Thanks. Remember that T-Mobile 9700s are different. Changing to manual does not enabe the 3G only option.
