Out BES server is running on a 60-days trial license.
We have made a purchase for the small businese edition and received 2 license keys.
One is the SRP license key and the other the BES Cal.
I just put the key into the BES already and it now shows to have 5 license in total. What I want to know is do I need to update the SRP license key as well or I just keep the old one in place? I am worried that if I change the SRP key the users may need to reactivate again. Thank you.
You do need to change the SRP key, that is what makes the current setup a trial. Changing to the SRP ID will get you off trial and onto live but currently-working users will be fine. The BES sends new data to the BBs and once the BBs handshake with the new SRP ID, they will be fine. When I change SRP IDs, users whose BB is talking to the BES fine don't even see the change and are done in a few minutes. Any BB which can't be contacted will stop syncing (well mine do anyway) until they can communicate with the BES.
I do find that MDS connection is knocked out for about 15mins after a change but it's probably more a case of it being knocked out until that particular BB has been updated, due to security issues.

Going from Trial to regular SRP the users shouldn't notice anything.. going from BES1 with a regular SRP to another BES2 with a different SRP I thought requires the devices be wiped?
When I try it on my setup, 2 bes', different SRP keys, the devices require a wipe.

True but OP is talking about changing SRP IDs on a single box. So no wipe required but on my setup changing SRP ID causes the previously-mentioned behaviour due to the security changes (I assume).

We had to have a few guys in Sweden using it once <shudder>. Nothing but problems and they loved getting their BBs finally. I think RIM created it to show just how good actual BBs really are .

Haven't actually seen the BBC in use, it belongs to a user in Germany who had his Nokia as a phone before our BES went live. He seems happy, well i haven't heard from him since activation last September.
