Well, I'd like to get in before the lock and share my distaste for teamcrn's opinion. I appreciate you sharing it, but I don't agree with you in any way, shape, or form, and I think that you need to be re-educated on the history of America as far as our underlying philosophy as a nation.

wow, to think this started by Lunk talking about people getting out of contracts and such.

Pretty heavy stuff. Find it distasteful that someone can stereotype and characterize our entire US history as dishonest and that our entire corporate culture is dishonest too. you are welcome, encouraged, to explore other alternatives, socialism, communism, dictatorships, etc. Let us know how that works out for you.

You work for a living, is your company based on dishonesty? is it corrupt? I like to start from a place of trust and work from there. If i had your view, I probably wouldn't venture out in society much, fearing that everyone is out to screw me.

This wasn't posted not too long ago and it's already on Page 2.

There are some dishonest people around but most people are honest.

For example, I lost my Blackberry 8100 Pearl and I got it back because he try to look for me to return it.

I thought I lost it forever. And he didn't ask for a reward either.

I got so lost in this one that I had to go back to Lunk's post an re-read it to know exactly where I was at!

I'd like to know where it's all gone, maybe I could help get some of it back but in a place as large as this and people bent on living the way they are I have to wish myself good luck I lost a lot of money on ebay and my bank flat out refused to help leaving me high in debt. Now I ask myself everyday "In a world filled with technology they can't figure out where the money went? Five grand was just lost into thin air?" I think not, they just wanted me to take the loss and be indebted to them. My identity has been stolen not my social security but someone is using my name, most likely the same person, been perma banned from ebay somehow had my paypal account hacked even though it wasn't used for the transaction and had my car broken into and a lot of stuff stolen (BUT NOT THE STEREO THANKFULLY) of my own and friends but I should have seen that one coming; actually I did, I hate civics! My life seems to be surrounded by these people who have no morals, values, honesty or lack of respect for those who work hard to achieve what they have so if any one of you figure out where it's gone please let me know I have a lot of stuff I'd like returned. Sorry to share my life story for the past three years but that about sums it up in the short version.

Yes I'm extremely disgruntled but what else is there to feel? I won't deny I could have taken more precautions but Afuilsuffulaeflabfuwebfuibrfrybgailsb I'm done.... Did I mention I'm all ready extreamly paranoid as is?

On another note I can't imagine where this would go if it got political.

He needs to read a book titled 'Founding Brothers: The Revolutionary Generation'.

Wow... I post a rant about morals and honesty and someone hops in and calls great grandpa a POS.... Yikes!!!

The things that were said about this country in this thread make me sick! Many brave men and women lost their life for you to enjoy what you have today! I would like to see you confront a D-Day survivor with that garbage mouth... Even on a walker they'd probably put a beat-down on you.....

You sir make me sick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Back on topic (feel free to stay out)

I agree there are dishonest people everywhere.... If there were not I'd be out of a job... However, IMHO there is a difference between someone shoplifts a chicken salad sandwich from the grocery store to feed a hungry child and someone who tries to get out of a contract that they read and signed....

So I imagine all of you who are preaching honesty drive exactly the speed limit, or 1 mph under just so to "play it safe," and have never lied, fibbed or deceived.

If my memory serves me right, there is only one guy that can actually say He was truthful his whole life. He stepped out for a little while, but He'll be back in a few.

So come down off of your high horse. It's called being human.

Oh, please... you completely missed the point and are grossly oversimplifying the argument here.

I'm not preaching honesty. (Not that it would be a bad thing to do so.)
I speed. I play around around in the grey areas on my taxes. I even lie from time to time.
However... these actions are NOT what made America what it is today. Making claims that America was founded on corruption and dishonesty is an insult to Americans, and every historical figure and event that molded this country into the great place that it is today.
Of course our ancestors made mistakes and there were plenty of past events that have negative overtones and could be considered a step-backwards. Again, the positives far outweigh the negatives, and as a people, we have learned from mistakes. That's progress, and will continue to be.
We'll continue to make errors as a nation, and we'll learn from them.

Surely you don't agree that this country was FOUNDED and BUILT on the dishonesty and corruption of our forefathers? Right?

I never said this country was built on dishonesty. I don't really have an opinion on that. I was simply arguing against your whole "whatever happened to morals, values, honesty..."

So therefore, you can not preach "morals, values and honesty" if yourself do not practice them. That was my argument.

Let he who is without sin, cast the first stone.

I'm sorry, but your holier than thou attitude does not sit well with me. Just because you are a moderator does not mean you can stand up on your podium and completely bash us "little people" as you so eloquently put it in another one of your posts.

I have every right to post my opinion, and if it is "garbage" then so be it. But at least I am staying true to myself. You, however, are simply keeping up appearances. I can say, without a doubt, that you have been dishonest and immoral in some shape or form during your lifetime.

You sir, need to cut the judgmental attitude.

You're taking this thread off-topic in a direction that it does not need to go, and I highly recommend changing course.

^^that friends, is what a "holier-than-thou-attitude" looks like if you have never seen one.

Bemelo56, if we didn't respect your "opinion" on here, I, for one, would be deleting each post you make that I didn't agree with, so get off that stump, it doesn't fly.

You are judging people here you don't know, and you appear to be on the borderline of insulting others. At that point, this conversation will be ended abruptly and you will be the victim of your own words. Keep it civil or leave, please.

One can debate morals and values without making it personal.

Can you?

Friend, LunkHead is not a moderator, and he never said he was perfect, but LunkHead's personal character is not the issue here.

As I mentioned above, I highly recommend re-directing your posting efforts elsewhere.
