This is a new phone. Each time I open address book it shows no contacts but it does show the number of contacts in options so I know they are there. I have to change display option (first or last name) and then contacts are shown. grrrr...Same thing each time and I do click save each time. I also notice the phrase (USE ONCE) at top of list and I know that wasn't there at first? What does that mean?

Check on the Phone Menu for a Filter that is set. I duplicated you problem that way.

I thought the filter just changed the group listing. That seems to have fixed the problem. You are a gem...many thanks!!!
