Default Verichat a scam?

Please Login to Remove!

Hey all,

After reading here about Verichat I went ahead and purchased the product from pdaapps.com

The codes that were emailed to me are not valid and give me a registration number error.

I sent an email to their support department and no reply. Looked up their phone number in 411.com and called them only to find out their number was changed. Called the new number and its a number for Nokia. Tried to explain the situation to them and the guy didn't have a clue of what I was talking about.

This is leading me to believe that this company that owns Verichat is a scam. Can anyone confirm they are legal and how the heck do I get support? Is there a Verichat rep here on BB Forums?

Verichat works awsome for me. In fact, just used it two minutes ago. Have no experience trying to call them, but they've been responsive to email. Hope nothings going on with PDAAPPS. Let us know what happens.

Clearly the recent IntelliSync buyout of PDAapps and the subsequent IntelliSync buyout from Nokia has taken its toll.

I had Verichat a few years - not a fly-by-night operation in my opinion. I see what I can find on the support issue but I wouldn't worry. Probably just a mix up.

Yeah I figure it is just some error in the automatic emails generated but my concern is I cant get in touch with anyone to correct the problem. Maybe Im just expecting too much. When someone emails me I normally have a response within hours let alone days.

Let me know if you find anything out Alimah. Much appreciated!

Cheers!

Their homepage says Premium Versions Temporarily Unavailable

That sounds kind of funky. I'll keep checking back. I'd hate to lose the remainder of my license if they go down. So far, mine is working fine. I was just on it.

Default Verichat - should I renew?

My concern is that since the purchase by Intelisync/Nokia that development will end. My license is about to expire and I want to renew but not if there will be no further development. Can you please shed any light on the plans for the product?

Not from my little corner of the planet. I was looking for the e-mail addy of a very nice Verichat man who assisted me with some trouble I was having some time ago (had something to do with being Nextel and non-BES) but so far I have not located it. It's worth a try though if I find it. I'm really enjoying the Yahoo offered for free on the Blackberry now so I do not use Verichat as much but it is nice to have for those times when I want to sign on to 2 Yahoo id's at once.
