Default New App: APPETITE - Manage your cookbook and grocery list

Please Login to Remove!

Hello,

We recently released a new application, Appetite.

Appetite can help you manage recipes and grocery lists in one place. You can upload and download recipes from the Appetite recipe channel, or just create and save recipes on your phone. Appetite also has a feature that allows you to create a grocery list automatically from your recipe, so you won't forget any items when making a new recipe.

Appetite is also a grocery list manager. With Appetite you can check-off items on your grocery lists, store the price of a particular item, make a note if you have a coupon for a particular item and more. As you shop, Appetite also calculates your shopping total.

You can see more about Appetite here

Download over-the-air (OTA)

or

Download to Desktop

We have plans for a lot more features. In the meantime, tell us what you think.

Thanks!

Glad you like it!

We were waiting for some feedback, especially from someone who seems to be a food fanatic (based on your username) themselves (just like us, lol)!

I have to agree. Very nice and clean interface. GREAT concept! I have two suggestions:
  1. Some bulk import utility of current recipes (I have a LOT on different sites)
  2. Recipe sharing with other members

Ok.

Love the feedback! The good news is, those features already exist ( I just didn't detail them enough in the post, whoops ).

There is a mass upload recipe feature available for all channel providers. These providers will have channels of their own that they will be able to share with the community. If you would like a channel, since you have so many recipes, email me at : [email address] with your request. The channels are not yet visible on the software, but they will appear on all users phones in about one to two weeks.

As for the second feature, recipe sharing is available. Users can create recipes and share them via their phone. If users share the recipe, it automatically appears under the Appetite channel. Users can share the recipes directly from their phone or create an account and submit recipes for other users to download.

This program looks AWESOME and like something I would use consistently. I'll be installing it on my Storm when I get it and get it up and running. Then I'll be back to leave some feedback on it

I'm sorry. What I was thinking was more of a community site like AllRecipes that users could upload and share them in a forum environment. A user could pick what they wanted to make and then the recipe/shopping cart could be downloaded to the BB. I still love the app. Very nice!

Is there an option (or perhaps your default) to save all that data on the MicroSD card?

Yes, the recipe images from downloaded recipes are saved to the SD card by default while the (smaller) recipe data is saved to the device.

Wirelessly posted

I am using the trial version and when I try to download a recipe under appetizers I get an error about an IT Policy. Is this normal or do I need to delete the policy? I am BIS. Never ran into this problem before. Any suggestions and comments are welcome. TIA

Fyi, We were able to resolve the issue. The firewall option happened to be enabled on their phone and needed to be disabled. It occurred when trying to download a recipe with an image (with recipe image download option enabled).

To disable firewall, go to Options > Security Options > Firewall and select "disable"

Nice app. I have a couple of suggestions:

1. Ability to navigate the shopping list by typing the first letter (like the way you move through the ingredients list)
2. Ability to hide checked items. This way, all you see on the screen are the items you need to buy. After purchasing an item, it's "hidden" from the remaining items on the list.
3. Ability to hide the Qty, Price, Aisle. In other words, be able to see more than 4 items per screen.

Thanks for the suggestions....we'll consider adding all or most of these suggestions in the next update of Appetite.
