Hi. I am in Florida visiting from the UK. Great place to be but now I am having to use WiFi for real on my new 9700.

Trouble is that I find the open hotel network but it does not see the internet and on going to wifi diags it shows the network but not an address for the BB.

I have no experience of BB and WiFi so have no way of knowing if this is correct but anyway there is no internet access.

Any ideas of steps to fix this?

Once on line will I be able to get BB messages? This would be no problem since I could us Google email anyway which I use to feed all BB (best anti spam way!!)

Do you have a B data plan activated on the device? that could be at least part of the problem.

Have you tried a battery pull yet?

Without an active BB data plan, no BBM, no BIS email, etc. and limited browsing capability.

Yes on data plan.
Yes had done battery pulls umpteen times being a long time BB owner

However I tried the pull just one more time and bingo it all started working.

Whether this had anything to do with the fact that I had turned on data again but off data roaming I don't know but anyway it works just as intended.

Yes but no but............. Today WiFi connects but white dash and no internet.

I tried another battery pull but no joy.

I tried advance browser settings and putting the browser on hotspot browser but that only prompts me to add data to my mobile setting.

This is very frustrating so any advice would me most welcome.
